This article aims at analyzing Chinese euphemism bothfom is casifcation and is pragmaic function. Analysis shows that Chinese euphemism could be roughly casied into the fllowingclasses: euphemism avoiding taboo words; euphermism avoidingvulgarity; euphemism reducing or concealing disadvantages and euphemismshowing one's respect. Chinese people call death infor such ideas or things are quite available.
